Personality:

Within the narrative Link embodies courage and Zelda embodies Wisdom. She’s known to be compassionate and wise well beyond her years. She has a strong thirst for knowledge and a desire to help and protect her kingdom from evil. This shows itself in many ways-most notably by the fact she held Ganon back with her power for a hundred years.

Prior to the great Calamity Zelda had embarked on a quest to awaken the sealing power within her so that she could help her friends and Link especially to seal away Ganon when he returned. She traveled to three sacred springs to pray to the goddess Hylia to awaken the power within, but despite her determination she was unsuccessful each time. It’s not until Link’s life is in immediate danger that she’s able to unlock her power and use it to protect her fallen knight.

When she’s not trying to hold back pure malice and hatred from destroying her kingdom, Zelda enjoys learning new things. She reads books within the castle and has her own study that she mostly used to devote time to learning how to defeat the calamity as pretty much all her life is spent preparing for Ganon’s return.

Initially, she is not very keen on the idea of Link being her appointed knight as she harbors some resentment towards him and assumes that because he had found the Master Sword so early on that life had been easy and mostly just handed to him. Meanwhile, she continues to struggle with awakening a power that is supposed to be her birthright.

She later learns and comes to the conclusion that everyone has hardships and struggles even if it doesn’t look like it. From then on she makes an effort to be more mindful of the thoughts and feelings of those around her.

She is excited by the prospect of new things and has a particular interest in science, history and botany. She considers herself to be a scholar and spends much of her time reading and studying. She expresses interest in learning how to grow certain flowers in different environments and learning more about Hyrules founding.

Most of all, Zelda is a kind-hearted but very curious girl. She wants to know how and why the world works. She believes she can find the answers to her problems through prayer and study and will do anything to protect her kingdom.


Abilities:

Light magic - Zelda has the ancient power to seal evil in the sacred realm that’s passed down through her bloodline.

Blood of the Goddess - Zelda is the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia which is what allows her to use her sealing magic.

Telepathy - She is shown to be able to send her thoughts to others. Those thoughts are usually sent to Link.

Note: Zelda has other powers in TotK but she is coming from BotW so she does not yet have those abilities.
